HAITI WITHOUT BORDERS The earthquake in Haiti has been described as among the largest catastrophes of the last 100 years; not only for the number of victims, refugees, displaced people and collapsed buildings, but also for the huge amount of money collected and invested for the humanitarian intervention that has involved a number without precedent of aid workers, doctors, rescue teams and military forces. Despite the numbers, in front of an event of such intensity and complexity, we assist the failures of the humanitarian aid in reaching the majority of Haitian people and their needs. The challenge for an effective help and reconstruction of Haiti is still open. Many volunteers and aid workers, from different nationalities, social backgrounds and professions have accepted this challenge.
